How hot has it been in Cape Town! No but really? Hectic Dude!

There was no escape.. it was everywhere.. and since my blogspot, my beloved leather couch, was too hot and yucky to even think about sitting on, I couldn’t even bring myself to boot up, log on and write something. Eventually the only option was a rubber ducky and the kiddies plunge pool. Relief Sublime. As you can see, it hasn’t exactly been a busy week on the project. No 1 priority has been keeping my head cool and waiting for the heat wave to pass.

That’s it for now, short, sweet, and still very very sweaty.

Welcome to the week, remember that Monday is over, Tuesday will soon make make way for Wednesday which is like a mini-weekend anyway! So hold tight, keep it VERY chilled and turn up the tunes at every chance you get. ALL OF THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND ALL OF THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN

If the name Alexey Dmitriev means nothing to you don’t worry, you’ll be hearing more about this man in the years to come.

As well as being one of Russia’s most decorated and respected scientists, Alexey is currently leading world research into the energy cloud into which we ARE currently traveling.

Are you sitting still? Well yes.. but you are also zipping around the Earth’s axis at around 1,000km/h.. oh yeah.. you’re also traveling around the sun at several thousand km/second. On top of that, our entire system, the solar system, is rotating around the centre of the Milkyway galaxy at such a rate that we complete an entire circuit through this phenomenal distance every 26,000 years or so… the milkyway itself is zooming through the galaxy. You are ANYTHING BUT sitting still. So all this space is just space right? Wrong again, there are various zones in space, one of which we are entering and will wack the middle of in.. you guessed it.. 2012!

The massive amounts of energy (in the form of protons, neutrons and their ilk) that we are traveling into is forming a wave on the edge of the solar system. Almost like the prow waved formed at the edge of a boat only trillions of times bigger.

This energy wave is already starting to affect planets in our system with a 2nd Red Spot having recently appeared on Jupiter (Known as oval BA) as well as a whole host of effects being seen on other planets (Including a thickening of the atmosphere of mars). Less talked about is the effect it is having on the sun which has been behaving VERY strangely in the past few years.

Every heard of sun spots? These are guys on the surface of the sun which have an 11 year cycle and generate loads of UVA UVB and energy which gets blasted at our home. The scary thing is, in 2005, during the SOLAR MINIMUM, the largest recorded solar flares in history flamed the earth, shutting down satelites and entire power grids.. once again this is not science fiction, this is fact.

If that’s what happened during the solar minimum, imagine what will happen during the next solar maximum, which occurs (you guessed it) in December 2012!!

Of course it’s not all bad news. Remember the door I was talking about? Here’s where we visit a bunch of rogue scientists currently researching the other potential effects of this electro magnetic storm we are flying into. Ever heard of the pineal gland? It’s a little thing a bit smaller than a walnut wedged in your brain. It is esoterically known as the “3rd eye” or the “crown chakra” and it is a gland which is able to sense and process electromagnetic radiation. It also happens to shut down in your teens round about the same time you become full of shit and stop seeing fairies in the garden

Anyhow, it appears that one of the characteristics of this energy cloud is the ability to “open” the pineal, causing surprising side effects such as telepathy, pre-cognition and even telekinesis. This has been confirmed on a small scale through experimentation already. Don’t take my word for it.. Google it.

Imagine the entire planet being forced to go telepathic for a period of several days! Imagine the chaos of no more secrets, no more lies and no more hidden technology or government cover ups.. even a few days of that would shake civilization to its core. This is once again, not fairy tale stuff but rather fairly plausible possibilities given what we are SEEING coming our way.

This is the door I spoke of, the chance we have to lift ourselves to a higher level of consciousness and a greater awareness of ourselves and our place in the universe. The power of music and the ability it has to connect us must not be ignored in the time ahead. Connect with people and clean out any dark recesses in your mind so that you can take full advantage of the opportunity.

Where better to be when this happens than on a dancefloor

The party at the end of Time?

Me, I’ll keep on reading, keep on researching and keep on looking for telltale signs, signals and information to share with you all, because there is SO much more being discovered about our solar system RIGHT NOW than the mass media is allowing you to see. The bottom line, from the perspective of many, is that something very big is headed our way in 2012 and unlike the millennium bug or the various doomsday prophecies, this is based on measurable and viewable scientific data.

Why do I say this happened before? Do you look at the stars and yearn? Do you feel as if you don’t belong.. feel as if there is magic missing or feel as if there must be something “out there”? This is another chapter in our very long history as the human race. It is a story which has spanned a multitude of planets, civilizations and aeons of time. There IS magic, there IS space travel and the things “out there” are actually us. It’s almost time to remember.

So don’t feel guilty about global warming, the guilt is a prison and the whole global warming thing (whilst definitely affected by CO2) is WAY bigger than we are being told. Don’t buy into the bollocks since most of it is yet another way to make money out of you anyway. Just enjoy your life, ignore information which imprisons you and embrace you right to freedom and celebration. I’m not saying be unconscious or uncaring. By all means get proactive and try to lead a life that is less harmful to the planet. But do it out of love for her, not out of fear for the consequences. Worship life through the living of it, it is such an awesome gift.

Change is not just inevitable, it’s on the horison.

After a 3 month sabatical from The Free Party Project, Facebook, Twitter, online gaming and pretty much all things online and digital I’M BACK!!!!

It’s been a time of rest, deep reflection and retreating to the hills for perspective. A time to plan the way forward and think about the past. Every story has a background which the author is aware of but which often doesn’t make it onto the published pages. This background story gives the actual story more flavor and a richer texture. The background story to The Free Party Project has been alluded to in these posts and in the links on the side of the site, but I’ve never come out and discussed it. So…. time to take the plunge and begin telling the story behind the story.

I guess most of you have some ideas about 2012, many have no opinion and a few have very definite ideas about what will or might happen. I fit in the third group. I have some VERY definite ideas about 2012. To be more precise, I have some very definite ideas about the last bit of December, 2012.

Yes we all know by now that the Mayan Calendar ends and that some American will spend a couple of days racing across the planet in a variety of planes to catch a lift on the Arcs the Chinese will be building (yeah right), but what’s the whole hoo ha all about and what does The Free Party Project have to do with it anyway?

Does the world end? And what does end mean anyway? If the world does end does that mean we can just lose our shit for the next 3 years or is there something we can do about it? What does it all mean Basil?

I’ll get to ALL the above over the next few weeks, but first a little taste of what I believe and what you can expect over the next while here on The Project.

Firstly, even though I’m renting as apposed to buying property for the next few years and even though I’m not making any long term plans besides building up my supply of camping equipment, I DONT believe the world is going to end.

What I do believe is that the acceleration we are all feeling and the waves of music culture we have been seeing since the 60’s are all part of a preparation for a MASSIVE change. The change will not necessarily be comfortable or even survivable for many and from the perspective of some (especially bankers and insurance people – sorry guys!) it may well seem like the end.

What I believe lies just around the corner is a door. I believe that human’s next major evolutionary leap is about to happen. It’s going to bring a massive change of consciousness and a change of lifestyle and society for those who are ready. I also believe that those who are NOT ready are going to really find it tough to understand this new world.

So why the Free Party Project and what is the link to music?

In short, The Free Party Project is my attempt to provide a platform for those who want it to raise consciousness, to come closer to other like minded people in a world that seems hell bent on pulling us apart. It’s an attempt to infuse some sanity from the syringe of humor and music. A jab in the arm of anti-social programming. A hit of un-reality. A pill of possibility and a different line of thinking. Excuse the drug references but I AM a child of the 90’s and my metaphors are unavoidably tainted.

The site is currently undergoing a re-design which will make it more community oriented. The posts will be returning as of this one and I will continue to share music and views a few times a week, however we will be adding loads more content about 2012 so that you can make your own decisions about what YOU believe or don’t believe as the case may be. There will be more ways for you to becoming involved, comment and post on the site. Online discussions and information sharing will be supported.

The free mixes will continue, with the next one coming in the following week.

The events will also resume for those who wish to attend, however we will also be doing some more guerilla events in the city in the middle of the working day to do our bit to shock the workers out of their stupor.

There are almost 3 years left. A lot of time if we use it, a fleeting moment if we don’t. Don’t go through the door as a part of the system, open your eyes and answer ALL the burning questions you have about why the world feels so damn wrong! Stop ignoring the signs and never ever fight down the intuition that things are out of place. Start to listen and you’ll be amazed at how many signs there are right now and how many signposts there already are about what is the correct direction to be taking.

With another party just around the corner, I thought I’d share a most green and awesome way of tuning in at Free Party Projects.

The new “Green Shop” in Cape Town’s Cape Quarter has a great selection of wind-up and solar powered portable radios, all of which have a plug in point for your headphones so you can be sun or self powered – slap on the biggest rudest pair of headphones you can find, pop your aerial in the air and go for it – allow the music to massage your mind…

Huge respect to Greg and the Green Shop posse for what they are doing. The final step in my almost 100% home recycling will be a worm farm which I will most certainly be acquiring from them this weekend. Do yourself a favor and go and check out their cool selection of goodies.

So; way back when there was this big bang. Nothing became everything, sound, light, heat, energy. All was born and everything changed. I’m not describing a rave in the 90’s (although come to think of it) but rather the beginning of this spin of the wheel which we are on.

It has all happened before and it will all happen again and as the wheel reaches the end of its spin (as it now is) so the illusions and rules vanish and we remember once more that everything around us is just the dream we are dreaming and the result of the choices we have willed into reality.

So where do we fit in?

Think about this. You, the thing you are sitting on, the food you ate earlier, the people you spoke to, the air you are currently breathing and even the photons of light in the room. The mouse in your hand and the screen you are staring at. All these things came from stars. They are no less separate than your hands are from your mind. They are all made from the same basic materials, all infused with the same life energy and all held together by the choice to be what they are being. You are a star child and the reality around you is what you have willed into being. Do you every fantasize about flying into space? About being taken away and traveling through the universe? Good news. That’s happening RIGHT NOW! We are all spacemen, born of stars and flying through the vacuum of nothingness.

The incredible precision with which the ancient peoples (Egypt, Maya, Toltec, Celtic Druids) tracked the stars and the movements of the heavens was born out of an incredible understanding, now lost and being regained, of our birthright as star-children. The effect of the heavens on us is mirrored only by our effect on the heavens.

This is all your birthright. I challenge you to go out into the world and CLAIM IT. Look around you and know that everything you see is yours. The time of freedom is coming if you are able to see the boundaries for the illusions they are. Look through the rules, listen to the music of the universe and see the incredible sense of humor in it all. There is no death, no pain and no sadness bigger than you and your right to live and experience this life. Only beautiful experience which are here to teach you and reconnect you with the entire of creation of which you are a perfect and integral part.

You are a transmitter, you are a dream weaver. You have the power to change everything. See the illusions and walk out into the world as a master of your own destiny.

So here’s what we need you to do

It’s another Monday meditation… we are going deep into the old school and I’m asking all the old ravers and hippies out there to tune in and reach out with every ounce of energy they have.

Cape Town’s weather, whilst AWESOME for the trees, has been a touch on the wet side for a Free Party Project; so we are going to get RID of the clouds for this coming Sunday and here’s how….

I need headphones on, volume’s up and eyes closed. The Prodigy is captain of tonight’s ship and I need all of you standing in Maiden’s cove and defending us from the storms. Leave your body, your pad and your stresses behind. Take up your dance outfits, your weapon of choice and a steely eyed grin and fly out over the city towards Maiden’s cove. You’ll be joining the thousands of Free Party People who read and respond to these posts and you’ll all be standing on the shore, facing out to sea and creating a huge weather shield for this Sunday. I recon the Astral plane will be pretty packed down there for the next 24 hrs…

It certainly has been a weather experience lately with Summer sitting on the horizon, refusing to arrive in all her glory until winter is finished pissing on the party. I’m a winter baby. I love the dark mornings. The ability to delay hangovers until way too late in the day for them to matter anyway. However, this year the darkness of winter and the darkness of the world in general is finally lifting and the sun-stained, coconut-flavored sweaty days ahead NEVER sounded better to me..

Deaf and Ainslie brought the bounce and groove of CT’s sexier tech sound to
the big drive of the Jozi hard tech.
Licking the wounds on Sunday, Ainslie dropped a slick min-tech house mix at
Sugar. Grooving the die-hards until the midnite hour.
He’ll be bringing an excerpt from that in this week’s show, and Deaf will be
rolling out a few phat ones also.

You can also catch them, and T-Minus, laying down the subtle Underground
Sound at Kink this Saturday, the 7th, for BACK TO MINE. Free entrance and
slick beats – what more could you ask for out of your Saturday night!?!

flavoured phatness – where the only thing that’ll be dirty are the beats.

Gone for a LEEEETLE while but certainly not gone Resting, recovering, partying, re-charging, re-thinking and waiting for the energy to lift and prepare…

It could have been the wind, the totally unpredictable Cape weather, or perhaps it was that Christmas tree I saw a month back; the crass commercialism of its October appearance sent me scurrying for cover… I retreated into the safety of books, vinyl and 7 hours of new tattoos…

And then, from a must unexpected source, inspiration has returned. A scene from a concert so moving, so awesome, so powerful it reminds me that as long as music like this is being made and people are having THIS much fun, no matter HOW EARLY the christmas trees are brought out to glare at us, the world is going to be all right.

I’m an EDM child but live music can and does still move me, especially when it is possessed of such awesome energy and received with such wild abandon. Roll on 2012, if this is how the kids are rocking today then the Mayan’s don’t have ANYTHING to worry about. We are all going to be just fine

So the message here is.. watch this space … The Free Party Project is back and planning is underway. Ainslie and crew will be belting out a kicker set on Wednesday once more (details to follow on tue nite/wed morn) and I have dug out a HOOOJ stash of classic 90’s vinyl to put together a weekend set for you all…

I’m hoping that the wind in Cape Town will leave us with some quiet days to party real soon… I’m thinking Sunday a week (15th November) for the next one

Admittedly all went a little quiet on the Free Party Project front over the last 2 weeks as our heads have been focused on this Saturday’s TOY Party. Although we always pour loads of energy into the TOY events, this one is something special as it also happens to be the TOY Queen’s birthday. (Elle, who is my life-mate and mother of my children also happens to be the TOY Queen, one of her many personas!!)

So, this post is all about PARTYING because frankly, with Thursday almost gone, I’m looking into the distance and I can just make out Friday’s cute little butt, waggling alluringly in the distance and judging by her body languange, it’s going to be a nasty bitch of a weekend how lovely.

I’m always up for a party;
admittedly;
but this weekend is something different.

Maybe its something in the air;
maybe it’s the promise of warm weather;
the smile in my lovely lady’s eyes or the impending TOY;

maybe it’s a combination of all these things.. all I know is that right now there is a spring coiled up inside me. An OLD SCHOOL 90’s spring, a raver spring, a dance till you sweat and give people that “you know that I know look” spring, a tap-your-feet-on-Friday-and-stay-up-very-late-so-you-can-sleep-late-on-Saturday-cause “what the hell I’ll be partying later anyway” spring.

The air smells like party, if you breath really deeply, so deeply that you lean forward onto the tips of your toes and your ears turn red on the edges with the effort, just behind the last few wisps of the week you can smell it… that tin-edged unmistakable waft of fun, like the smell of baking bread if the bread wanted to be a Tequila slammer on a hot summer’s evening. That’s the smell of late nights, of a sidewalk outside a club, the mingling of cigarette smoke, perfumed lovers and petrol fumes. It’s the smell of leather and jazz, of street-side vendors, peddling the inoculation against one drink too many, deep fried and served in a bun of crowded excitement.

Yes, that’s kind of what’s happening in my head. The various personalities inside have all rebelled and refused to work on the Free Party Project for now. My synapses have been hi-jacked, all useful thoughts have been thrown off and in their place, sound systems are pumping out stomping house, techno and trance and the procession of personalities, shirtless and smiling, march around my head having a big party all of their own.

I guess at a time like this, all that’s left is to give yourself over to the party, to join the maddening crowd in the mind, give over control and correctness and follow the white rabbit all the way down the hole.

It’s almost Friday, I chose the Red Pill. Ag, I chose both. Work on the project can resume once this weekend is over, once the TOYness has been worked out of my system and the birthday celebrations wind down, once the fuzziness fades and the band in my brain stops playing.

Of course, celebration loves company and whilst TOY is by no means a Free Party Project, invitation is extended with open, sweaty, warm, welcoming arms, o come all ye faithful.

Till then, I give myself over to the music, do with me what thou will O Gods of Electro, House, Techno and Trance, if you can’t beat em, dance-dance-dance…

(When Cape Town finally admits that in fact, yes, Summer has arrived, the heat is not global warming and the days are getting longer and agrees to stop dumping rain on every Sunday we choose for a Free Party Project, extra-ordinary events will resume )
